OH! THE RACES – SPRING RACE SEASON AND MILLINERY

Spring Race season is on our doorsteps, so the BYO team have hit the town to reveal this year’s key looks.
Only of course from the best in the business – The Milliners.
We visited three unique and innovative hat makers, all of whom are based in Sydney and make their creations by hand.
BYO dropped in to check out Suzy O’RourkePaddington’s Hatmaker and emerging millinery label Aniss
and found that they’ve got the statement pieces that you’ll need for this year’s big race events.

Transcending Cultural and Creative Traditions.

Introducing Aniss Fakhri, the artist and brains behind the young Sydney based millinery label, Aniss.
Along with business partner Steven Sheriden, Fakhri pushes the boundaries on traditional headwear with intricate and striking
avant-garde creations. It seems there is a little bit of mystery about Aniss, so our BYO team decided to uncover it all in prep for this year’s races.

BYO - When did the idea of Aniss come about?

SS – It hard to say when the actual beginning was. Aniss is a graphic designer by profession and I have an architectural
background and Aniss was working on this Fine Art project called “The One Who Knows”. It was about this ulterior character,
this enigma that is something like your shadow.
